Amarillo Postal Employees Credit Union is a full service, non-profit cooperative financial institution that began in 1931. It was formed for the purpose of encouraging savings, by offering a good rate of return, using collective moneys to make loans at competitive, low rates and provide other useful financial services.
Our mission at the Amarillo Postal Employees Credit Union is to provide quality financial services to meet the needs of its' members. The Credit Union operates within the realm of sound business practices in an efficient, professional and friendly manner.
Who Can Join
Amarillo Postal Employees CU provides all the benefits of a member-owned financial institution to employees of the Amarillo Post Office and all post offices within the Texas Panhandle and their family members. And groups of employees or members of companies or assocations which are located within ten miles of the credit union's main office.
Effective August 1, 2013 - persons who live, work, worship or attend school in City of Amarillo, Texas, can now join APECU.
As a full-service financial institution, the credit union:
- Provides security for funds, with accounts insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration, a U.S. government agency.
- Offers a full line of free or discounted financial products and services.
- Provides dependable, friendly, personalized service.
- Provides printed materials for the introduction and promotion of services.
- Offers convenience.
- Increases members' knowledge of financial options.
- Extends membership privileges to family members.
- Places members' interests first.
Notice to Members
Upon written request, a member may review the most recent Credit Union documents:
- The Credit Unions' Balance sheet and Income statement
- A summary of the most recent annual audit completed in accordance with Section 91.516 of the Texas Administrative Code
- The Credit Unions written board policy "Access to Information" regarding access to Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws
- Internal revenue Service Form 990

Procedures For Opening A new Account

What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
